Statement by U.S. Ambassador David H. Wilkins on the Safe Third Country Agreement

Embassy of the United States of America

OTTAWA - The United States has a proud record of accepting and protecting refugees, defending human rights, and adhering to our treaty obligations.

That is why the U.S. welcomes more refugees than any other country in the world and remains a beacon of hope and liberty. Last year alone, the United States accepted more refugees for resettlement than any other country according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
